Some experts claim that laser and light therapy is this century’s alternative to traditional treatments. These technologies have been successfully applied to treating acne and other skin diseases. Many acne sufferers who were disappointed with all other methods have found a solution for their problem in blue light Acne Treatment.
Benefits of Blue Light Acne Treatment
*Blue light Acne Treatment* focuses on eliminating *P. acnes*, the bacteria that causes to acne eruptions. This bacteria pumps out some molecules called porphyrins. When these molecules are exposed to blue light, they release free radicals that kill the bacteria.
Blue light Acne Treatment has several benefits in comparison to other therapies:
* It is a totally natural and has no side effects.
* It is safe to use daily and for all ages.
* Unlike other light therapies, it doesn’t contain UV light that can hurt your skin.
* It is painless and you can do it in your own home.
Research Data
Data from clinical trials on blue light therapy has revealed that is a promising Acne Treatment. Patients involved in the studies have received the blue light Acne Treatment in several sessions, each lasting about 15 minutes. Many of them, but not all, have registered significant improvement after the treatment, with approximately 55% clearance. Side effects were only mild and included short-term pigment changes, dryness and swelling of the treated area.
Taiwan: Thirty-one patients with facial acne on both sides have received blue light Acne Treatment only on one side, while the other has received no treatment at all. The therapy was given twice a week for four weeks. In the end, it was concluded that blue light Acne Treatment is effective unless the patient suffers from cystic acne, which often worsens when treated with blue light.
United States: Twenty-five patients suffering from inflammatory acne were treated with blue light therapy on one side (8 sessions in 4 weeks) and with clindamycin on the other (twice a day for 4 weeks). In the end, researchers compared the results for the two treatments. The side treated with clindamycin showed an approximately 22% improvement, while the one treated with blue light therapy showed around 40% improvement. However, after 8 weeks of no treatment, the clindamycin side had maintained the results better.
Israel: Three separate studies on 10, 13 and 25 patients suffering form inflammatory acne were conducted in order to measure the effects of blue light Acne Treatment. In all of the three studies, over 80% of all patients responded well to the treatment, showing between 59% and 67% improvement.
Japan: 30 patients suffering from mild to moderate acne received a blue light Acne Treatment twice a week for up to five weeks. For 80% of all patients, the lesions decreased by approximately 64%. The rest of them experienced negative or no effects.
Unfortunately, the number of individuals involved in these research studies is too small. Generally, clinical trials aimed to test new treatments enroll hundreds or even thousands of patients. Considering the small numbers involved in the blue light Acne Treatment studies, no statistically valid conclusion can be drawn. However, these studies do reveal that blue light therapy has positive effects on some individuals suffering from acne. It gives best results for inflammatory acne and may not be safe to use on patients with cystic acne lesions.

With so many Acne Treatment products available on the market today, it is very hard to say which one is the best for you. If your acne is related to puberty, it is not uncommon to outgrow it before finding the best treatment. While many of the Acne Treatment products simply do not work, there are some who do work. However, the best Acne Treatment depends on your skin type as well and not only on the quality of the product have you chosen.
ProActiv
A high-quality Acne Treatment on the market today is /ProActiv/. It has helped many people who had spent years looking for the right way to cure acne. This treatment has received many positive reviews in newspapers and magazines. /ProActiv/ is a system that includes a cleanser, a revitalizing toner and a repairing lotion. The active ingredient of /ProActiv/ is benzoyl peroxide. It doesn’t require a prescription.
Accutane
Another Acne Treatment that has worked for many people is /Accutane/. However, this is a very strong medication and therefore can only be used by people who suffer from severe and permanent acne. It is taken orally and can have many side effects, including birth defects, dry lips and liver dysfunctions.
Retin A
Retin A is yet another successful Acne Treatment product. It is used topically, not only for treating acne lesions, but also scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, skin discoloration and other skin problems. It’s available only by prescription, but there are some over the counter medications that contain /Retin A/.
Essential Oils
The best Acne Treatment for you should not necessary be based on chemicals. There are also some essential oils with good results in acne curing. These treatments are not very efficient for cases of serious acne. However, they can be successfully used for treating mild to moderate acne. Tea Tree Oil, Bergamot Oil, Lavender Oil and Clove Oil are some of the best essential oils for Acne Treatment. If the essential oil needs to be diluted, use some grape seed oil to mix it with.
In order to find the best Acne Treatment, a good solution is to approach the problem gradually. Start with essential oils, which should give good results if you have mild or moderate acne. However, if they don’t, step up to ProActiv. If this doesn’t work either, you should go to a dermatologist and he will write you a prescription for a stronger medication. You should also be tested for food allergies, as some of them can cause acne. If this is your case, you will get rid of acne by simply eliminating those foods from your diet.

Baby acne is a common skin condition, affecting approximately 20% of all newborns. Sometimes it appears at birth, but usually it shows up a couple of weeks after. Baby Acne Treatment products are not very common. Adult acne products are not safe to use on babies, as they have a very sensitive skin and it can get easily irritated. Soap or oils are not good either.
Baby Acne Facts
*Baby acne* is an eruption of the cheeks similar to adult acne and is more frequent in baby boys during the first few weeks after birth. It is caused by an imbalance of androgen (the male hormone) and estrogen (the female hormone) as a result of the withdrawal of maternal estrogen after delivery. It doesn’t leave scars and usually needs no treatment, but a treatment might be required to reduce irritation and itching.
Baby acne may come and go until your baby is 4-6 months old. Once you’re done breast feeding, the acne should clear up. Beware of formula which contains *soy milk*, as it includes a high level of hormone mimicking ingredients and may develop puberty effects, such as breast or pubic hair growth, at only a few months of age.
Just as adult acne, baby acne usually shows up as small whiteheads on the face and sometimes even on the back. These little pimples are different from the ones your baby may have had at birth, which are called *milia*. Milia should go away within two weeks. If your child has blemishes anywhere else, go to a pediatrician. He could have other skin problems, such as *eczema* or *cradle cap*.
Baby Acne Treatment
Your baby is prone to develop acne especially when he is hot or fussy or has irritated skin. Baby lotions and oils are not recommended in these situations. They may even aggravate the acne. Don’t scrub either, because it may cause irritations. Baby acne is not caused by dirt, so over washing does no good. Just wash his face once a day with *mild baby soap* and water.
A good baby Acne Treatment is *hydrocortisone cream* or *ionic colloidal silver solution*. Ionic colloidal silver solution kills the bacteria that causes acne and is very effective. For sever baby acne, some dermatologists may recommend an over-the-counter treatment, such as *benzoyl peroxide* or even a prescription medication.
However, patience is a virtue. Most baby acne cases cure in time and do not require any special treatment. Usually, the acne doesn’t bother your baby at all so you shouldn’t let it bother you either.

Just when you thought you’d finally got through all the skin problems related to puberty, you wake up one day and find acne. If you ask a dermatologist, you will find out acne is not just a problem for teens. Fortunately, there are some treatments that will help you fight adult acne successfully.
Adult Acne Facts
Doctors say adult acne is a common problem, but unfortunately an under-recognized one. Most people think acne it just for kids, but it can happen in later years too. It is more common in women than in men. Statistics show that acne affects about 25% of all adult men and 50% of all adult women at some point during their adult life.
At the bottom of acne lies the *pimple*, which doctors call comedo. A pimple is a plug of fat, skin debris and keratin stuck in a hair duct. When it is open, we call it a blackhead and when it’s closed over, a whitehead. Whiteheads can cause the walls of the hair duct to rupture, leading to redness, infection and cysts of acne.
Many people think that acne is a result of poor hygiene, but this is not true. Both adult and teen acne are caused by a combination of many factors, such as excess oil production, faulty closing of the hair duct or infection. Washing your face gently only twice a day is actually much better than washing it more often.
Adult Acne Treatment
You can choose between an adult Acne Treatment in a dermatologist’s office or at home. However, squeezing pimples at home often leads to infection and scars. Squeezing pimples is also a very effective way to get your acne to spread. Doctors, on the other hands, use special sterile instruments to prevent infection, scarring and acne spread.
Another solution is to check your local drug store for adult acne treatments. If you’ve ever tried this, you know it’s loaded with such products. With so many options available, choosing the right adult Acne Treatment can be quite difficult.
A great progress in adult Acne Treatment has been the producing of the *topical retinoid acid*, a modified form of vitamin A. Improved versions of this medicine greatly reduce the irritation it can cause. Other acne treatments fight against different causes of acne. They are sometimes used in combination. Such acne treatments include:
* Azelaic acid cream
* Benzoyl peroxide
* Alpha-hydroxy acids (such as lactic acid, glycolic acid and gluconic acid)
* Antibiotic pills (of used unwisely, they can lead to antibiotic resistance)
* Topical antibiotics (gels, lotions and solutions)
* Contraceptive pills for women
* Sotret or Accutane for severe acne
Accutane and Sotret have several side effects, including birth defects. Women with severe acne problems that choose these treatments should use alternative birth control. Despite the side effects they have, these treatments are probably the best choice for sever acne.

*Acne* is a very frequent inflammatory skin disease at all ages. Even though it is more common during puberty and usually decreases during the early twenties, it is not unusual for a person in his late thirties or forties to still have it. Fortunately, almost any acne case can be treated. The key for treating and preventing acne problems is following a few basic guidelines. You have to keep in mind that resolution takes time, what works for someone else may not work for you and in some cases you might need a dermatologist.
Resolution Takes Time
Don’t get fooled by medications that claim miraculous, overnight results. Generally, the first effects can be noticed after 6 to 8 weeks. After you have achieved some results, you need to continue treatment to prevent acne from reappearing. If you don’t notice anything different after 8 weeks, the treatment probably needs some adjustments.
What Works For Someone Else May Not Work For You
If one of your friends recommends you an Acne Treatment that has done wonders on him, don’t expect it to have the exact same effects on you. You need to follow a treatment that fits your skin type. There are also several types of acne, each requiring a different treatment. The choice you make should be based on your skin type, the causes of the acne problems and the lesions you have at the moment.
You Might Need a Dermatologist
Given the fact that there are many factors that may lead to acne problems, deciding which treatment would work best for you is sometimes a tough call. There’s a wide range of Acne Treatment products available on the market nowadays and if you don’t choose wisely, you might even get the opposite of what you had expected. This is why it is sometimes best to seek professional help.
Dermatologists have the necessary knowledge to examine your skin type and what sort of acne you suffer from. Before prescribing a treatment, they take many things into account, such as how severe the problem is, the type of lesions you have, as well as your age, lifestyle, motivation and skin type. Based on these factors they create an individualized Acne Treatment to fit your specific characteristics.
A dermatologist often combines several acne treatments, asking you to use one medication in the morning and another in the evening. However, it’s not safe to do this on your own, because there are several side effects that might make matters worse.
As any other health problem, it is easier to cure if treated earlier. This way you will get better and faster results. An early Acne Treatment is also helpful for preventing scars that sometimes remain from pimples. As always, it is much easier to prevent than treat, so it’s best to take care of your skin even before suffering from any acne problem.

Recent studies have concluded approximately 90% of all teenagers, 50% of all adult women and 25% of all adults had suffered from acne, either as a chronic skin disease or at some point in their lives. Although there’s no universal cure, acne is definitely easier to treat now than it used to be. However, finding the right Acne Treatment product is still a mystery for many of the sufferers.
Despite all the scientific knowledge today, people still think that acne is caused by particular things we do. Actually, it is mostly a combination of factors underneath our skin that lead to acne. The good news that there are Acne Treatment products that can eliminate acne completely in about 95% of all cases.
Your skin has many wonderful features that help it recover completely even from serious acne if treated properly:
* It is self healing.
* It is very elastic.
* It registers and remembers sensations very precisely.
* It is very resilient.
* It is self-cleaning and hardly ever suffers any serious infection.
* It lets in some elements and protects you from others.
* It holds in the entire amount of liquid that flows through your body.
Salicylic Acid
There’s a lot of evidence that salicylic acid is one of the most effective approach on acne problems. It decreases the number of primary acne lesions, as well as the number and severity of all lesions associated with acne. Salicylic acid is safe to use even on dark skin and gives good and fast results.
Glycolic Acid
Among popular alpha hydroxyl acids, glycolic acid is one of the most commonly used. It has similar results with a chemical peel. Even when used in strong concentrations, glycolic acid has only few negative side effects. Long-term day to day use may also have a beneficial effect on
acne scars.
Glycolic acid is also effective in increasing skin resistance to ultraviolet light, improving moisture retention, as well as the general skin condition. However, even though it is quite effective and has only minor side effects, it is better to use as part of a more complex skin care system.
Benzoyl Peroxide
Benzoyl peroxide is a widely used ingredient in Acne Treatment products. It used to be very popular in the 1930s, but since then, medical science has come up with new and more effective treatments. However, many dermatologists are still pleading for the benefits of Acne Treatment products that contain Benzoyl peroxide.
In addition to its antibacterial effect, Benzoyl peroxide apparently has an anti-oxidant action as well. Among its most common side effects is dry and irritated skin.
Many Acne Treatment products available on the market today use one of the ingredients mentioned above in combination with other ingredients. Some of the most famous and effective products against acne are ProActiv, ZENMED Derma Cleanse System, Accutane and Benzoyl Peroxide.
However, when purchasing an Acne Treatment product, you have to look through the side effects thoroughly, as some of them may be worse than your acne itself.

There is a wide variety of ways to deal with acne. Many researchers focus on developing new and improved methods of acne skin care treatment. Drug stores are filled with skin care products against acne and dermatologists are there to help you find the right one for you. For more severe cases, surgery is always an option. Laser and light techniques to cure acne are being permanently improved. Nowadays there’s a treatment for any acne situation, so all you have to do is find the approach that works for you.
Self Medication
Self medication is the most convenient and affordable type of acne skin care treatment and helps manage most acne vulgaris cases. There are many products that claim to instantly cure acne, but they actually do not work. There are a few ways to make sure you do not waste your money and purchase the right product for your skin problem:
* Read the label and paraphernalia carefully and consider side effects.
* Remember that something which worked for someone else may not work for you.
* Don’t be misled into believing that high price is equivalent to high quality.
* Consult your medical practitioner for any questions.
There are many skin care products you can purchase over the Internet. For some of them you may even find customer reviews. Many Internet suppliers provide a money-back guarantee, which you usually do not get from a local drug store.
The Role of a Physician
An acne therapy is aimed to get you rid of acne lesions and prevents new ones from developing. Most treatments a physician prescribes cure existing lesions and, with long-term use, prevent others from forming.
Most acne treatments try to eliminate the main causes that usually lead to acne:
* Excessive sebum production
* P. acnes bacteria
* Dead skin cells
Sometimes, acne skin care treatment involves two or more products combined, targeting different factors that lead to acne. Consult a dermatologist before you combine several acne products.
The Role of a Dermatologist
Even though there are treatments for almost all acne cases, you might need a dermatologist’s to decide which one is best for you. With so many solutions available today for fighting against acne, there is no point in just living with it until it leaves unsightly scars on your skin.
Many individuals that suffer from acne are able to handle it themselves. It might be your case too. However, in order to find out if you should see a specialist, analyze your acne thoroughly. If any of the following applies to you, make an appointment:
* Non-prescription acne treatments failed to give the results you
expected.
* Your acne ruins important moments for you and interferes with life
enjoyment.
* You not only have acne lesions, but also scars.
* You pimples are large and painful.
* Your skin is dark-colored and acne produces darker parches.
There are several acne skin care treatment options at your disposal today. Many of them are scams, but some even work. If you want to cure your acne and prevent other lesions from appearing, you should spend some time analyzing the problem and focusing on the best way to cure it. Choosing a treatment just because you’ve heard of it is usually a bad choice and may worsen your acne instead of improving it.
